National Marine Week celebrations on Portland and 'Seafest'. With help from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Marine Week aims to ex-pore our fasciating but fragile marine world and show the importance of limiting our own impact upon it. Promoted by the Chesil Beach Centre and Reserve, the Portland Ranger Project, IVY?(Island Volunteers for You) and a wide range of community partners. Many walks, talks, workshops, tours and subsidized boat trips on and around Portland aim to take the widest possible view of the ma-rine environment. Finale Seafest on 18/19 August (see that entry).
